I think I’m the only person in the Point and Mile Obsessive World that doesn’t focus on Starwood Hotel properties. I find it irritating when hotel chains have a promotion but include a huge list of non participating properties. I felt like every time I wanted to stay at a Sheraton, it was on the excluded list.
Well it looks like Starwood is taking a page from Marriott and requiring all properties participate in their newest promotion called “Nice Choice”. I find this extra interesting because I’m heading to Iowa City in July.
The Sheraton in Iowa City is located on the University of Iowa campus. If I stay at this Sheraton, I can save time and gas money by walking to my venue. Additionally, my American Express Platinum card gives me gold status. One of the benefits of gold elite with Starwood is free internet.

I like Marriott promo’s better – stay 2 times, get a free night. But Starwood’s Nice Choice promotion is okay. It certainly isn’t earth shattering, but it’s nice seeing all hotels participate.
