What is American Mensa

American Mensa provides intelligent individuals an opportunity to meet other smart people on the local, regional, and national level. Mensans interact at entertaining events and exchange ideas through a variety of publications. Mensa members also work to help others in their communities by providing scholarships and volunteering for community-oriented activities.

You can discover if you are Mensa material by taking the Mensa Home Test. Alternatively, order a printed version of the Mensa Home Test to complete and return for scoring.

Mensa for Kids Excellence in Reading Award Program

The Mensa Foundation encourages education, gifted youth and lifelong learning through programs like the Mensa for Kids Web site and other activities.

To encourage the joy of reading, the Mensa Foundation has developed the Mensa for Kids Excellence in Reading Award Program.

How to Participate and Get a Free T-Shirt

  1. Go here to find the grade-level segment that best fits your reading level from the list of books provided. You’ll receive an award for each segment read.
  2. Print the appropriate segment and track each book you read.
  3. Once you’ve completed an entire segment list, both the child and parent need to sign the list for verification
  4. Return the signed form to the Mensa Foundation:

  5. Once they’ve received your signed list, you will receive an award certificate and Excellent in Reading T-shirt.
