April 17, 2012 – A date most taxpayers and preparers want to ignore but fear of the IRS keep us fulfilling our annual obligation. To help the day go a little smoother or at least get us in their doors, retailers are rolling out the freebies.
A good chunk of retailers are celebrating this special day with free items when making a purchase, e.g., 20 chicken wings at Hooters for $9.99 or Bruegger’s Big Bagel Bundle (bakers dozen plus 2 containers of cream cheese) for $10.49. But I’m just focusing on freebies that don’t require you and me to hand over any cash.
Free Food For Tax Day
Maggie Moos and Marble Slab Creamery: Giving away a scoop of their new yogurt from 4 to 7 p.m. April 17. Maggio Moo Coupon
Whole Foods: Free 12 oz. cup of drip cup of coffee from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. stores.
Chevys Fresh Mex: Free taquito with this Chevys Fresh Mex Facebook coupon.
Cinnabon: Two free Classic Cinnabon Bites on April 17 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The offer will be valid at participating locations. Not valid at airports or travel plazas.
Arby’s: Free order of value size cury fries via facbook coupon Arby’s is also having a sweepstakes on its Facebook page to win $5,000 in tax relief.
Office Depot: Until April 16, customers can get 25 single-side black and white copies of their tax returns and up to 5lbs of shredding done at Office Depot’s Copy & Print Depot.
HydroMassage: Free massages across the country to help cut Tax Day stress, April 16 through April 20. List of participating locations.
AMC Theaters: Free Small Popcorn at AMC Theatres from April 13 April 15. (Tip:The coupon does not state you need to pay or stay for a movie. Simply present your coupon, get your free popcorn, and continue with your day.)
Panda Express: Free single serving of its new Shanghai Angus Steak at participating locations on April 17. Claim a coupon liking Panda Express on Facebook.
