Hertz Car Rental is changing the name of their reward program to Hertz Gold Plus Rewards (from Hertz #1 Awards).
The Hertz reward program consist of four different levels – Basic, Gold, Five Star and Presidents. Each level offer different benefits and requirements.

My favorite part of gold tier is skipping the rental line and heading straight to the car lot to pick-out your car.
Hertz Club Gold Plus is normally a $60 membership fee but a promotion is running for free membership and free points. I do not have any upcoming rentals but I registered just in case my plans change.
Hertz Car Rental Promotion:
Free Club Gold Membership (normally $60 fee) until 9/30/11.
500 Free Bonus Points. 500 Bonus points = One free weekend day rental. (See below for point value.)
Additional 100 bonus points each rental day on top of the typical earn of 1 point per $1 spent between 7/01/11 and 9/30/11.

Registration Steps:
You need to be a Hertz Gold Plus Reward member before you register for the 500 free bonus points.
If you are not a member of Hertz Gold Plus Member:
- Sign-up by clicking here
- Select I am not a Hertz Gold Member
- Follow the short steps to complete the sign-up process
If you are a member of Hertz #1 Club Member but not a Hertz Gold Plus Member:
- Select the I am a Hertz #1 Club Member button
- Select “Upgrade Now” for free upgrade to Hertz Gold Plus Reward.
When you are a Hertz Gold Plus Member:
- Register for the promotion by clicking here.
Sign-up took 5 minutes. The names for the levels of the reward program are still a little confusing but this is a good promotion. If you need to rent a car in a big city where a single day can easily reach $90, you will definitely find value in this promotion.
