More About Me – Susan
The concept for this website probably started in 1998. Life was crazy – I was working full-time at a financial institution in Chicago, Andy was working full-time in the health care field and we had a one year daughter.
One day I spent 3 hours riding the train and car trying to return home. After another busy work day and bag full of work to do that night, our in-home sitter announced she was quitting and eloping with her new boyfriend. My first thought was, “Our life is nuts!”
So Andy and I made the decision that that I’ll take a pause from the corporate world to become a full-time accountant, teacher, taxi driver, tutor, arbitrator, dentist, doctor, coach, maid, counselor, chauffeur, electrician, and repair expert – also known as a stay at home mom.
Fast forward …….
My full-time finance career is still on pause. I work part-time in the finance field – mostly tax accounting.
I’m still married to the same crazy guy, Andy, and we have two beautiful daughters. Andy is an avid fisherman, loyal to family and loves to make people laugh.
My oldest daughter, Teenager, is loyal, supportive and a harder worker at school and with her swim team. While she has no interest in keeping her bedroom or bathroom clean, she insists on having a bottle hand sanitizer close. Hopefully I’ll survive the thrills, chills and drama of a teenager girl.
My energetic, adorable preschooler Kindergartner First Grader or Ally Cat as she prefers, gives a lot of excitement to our household. Her teacher once said, “Ally is social and has many friends because of it.” I think this means she talks a lot.
